Social responsibility is a topic on everyone’s agenda, and many HR leaders are seriously considering the Kickstart Scheme as a way to add social value and increase diversity. Kickstart offers funding to create new 6-month jobs for 16 to 24-year-olds at risk of long term unemployment.
At the same time, there’s some understandable trepidation about bringing disadvantaged youngsters into a professional workforce. How well will they actually cope?
Marisol Milsom, recently hired by Capita as its first Head of Socially Responsible Resourcing, has an encouraging story to tell about her experiences with the scheme.
